ASSOCIATION BETWEEN IL-1 AND IL-1Ra GENE POLYMORPHISMS WITH PERI-IMPLANTITIS

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate IL-1(interleukin-1) gene group polymorphisms in patients with peri-implantitis and to compare them with patients with peri-implant health. It is also intended to investigate the levels of inflammatory response markers IL-1b, prostaglandin E2 and tumour necrosis factor alpha in peri-implant crevicular fluid of patients with peri-implant
health implants and in patients with peri-implantitis, and to relate them with the IL-1 genotype. The immediate goal is to develop a preliminary study with patients recruited from the Dental Clinic Egas Moniz. The long-time objective of this research proposal is to develop a large-scale and multi-centric study.
