New insights into the chemistry and interaction of hydrophobic materials with self-adhesive properties, as direct dental restorative materials

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The aim of this project is to propose alternative ways to bond to dental substrates, which do not follow a conventional approach (i.e., the creation of a hybrid layer in dentin which is bound to degrade with time). Such alternative strategies are expected to be compatible with hydrophobic self-adhesive composites. New formulations of these materials are also included in this aim, by optimizing the properties of composites already developed in previous work, up until this date. The final outcome is the creation of new-generation restorative materials.
