O principal objetivo do projeto SOL é desenvolver e otimizar novos sistemas de veiculação de fármacos para o tratamento de doenças oculares diabéticas que utilizem vias não invasivas e garantam uma libertação sustentada, aumentando a sua biodisponibilidade nos tecidos alvo. O trabalho explora o uso de lentes de contacto e lentes intra-oculares
