Abstract

The structural differentiation of isomeric C8-substituted alklaniline adducts of guanine electrospray ionization and quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometry were discussed. The BH 2 + ions formed by these adducts were subjected to CAD to determine the differentiation. Isomer differentiation was accomplished by the observation of the structure-specific fragmentation pathways or the the calculation of similarity index (SI). It was observed that the SI's computed for the comparison of different tandem mass spectra acquired from the same isomer range from 8 ± 2 to 12 ± 4.
