N2 - Evaluation of postural steadiness using force platforms and the trajectories of the Center of Pressure (CoP) and Center of Gravity (CoG) are becoming more and more common nowadays. In our work we analysed the parameters related to postural control and compared them with those supplied by a Computerized Dynamic Posturography System, the Balance Master System of Neurocom® (BM). In order to calculate additional parameters of postural control it was recorded the CoG coordinates of 33 students of the Faculty of Human Kinetics using the BM system. In this study two sets of data, the Posturographic Balance Master data and an analytic calculation data were compared. It was also studied the influence of vestibular stimulation on balance control. The results indicate a strong correlation between the majority of the parameters of both methods of data analysis. They also pointed out a selection and characterization of the parameters that are closely related to the postural behaviour, and a quantification of the change in postural balance provoked by the vestibular stimulation. This study intended also, to implement a standard procedure to characterize the quasi-static postural behaviour using the data supplied by any instrument capable of recording either the CoP or the CoG coordinates of any subject.
