Resumo

Time series related to the center of pressure are utilized in nonlinear measurement techniques that assess motor behavior by examining deviations in the center of pressure. A movement pattern's consistency, adaptability, and intricacy can be measured using these metrics. Through an analysis of fractal dimensions, this study investigates how variations in foot posture affect the center of pressure. The study's participant pool comprised 31 individuals, collectively contributing 62 ft. Among them, 15 participants exhibited a bilateral flatfoot condition, while the remaining 16 constituted the control group with bilateral neutral foot posture. Prior to posture analysis, participants underwent screening involving the Navicular Drop Test and Resting Calcaneal Stance Position test to categorize them into their respective groups. All participants undertook an assessment of bipedal weight-bearing stances on a force platform, both with eyes open and eyes closed. Subsequently, the Fractal Dimension was computed. The non-linear examination unveiled no statistically substantial variations in terms of the Fractal Dimension (p > 0.05). Notably, no significant disparities in postural stability were discerned between individuals with and without flatfoot. Future studies should meticulously address methodological factors and concentrate specifically on foot modifications to address current limitations within the methodology.
