Resumo
Vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) measurements have been performed on the binary system CH4-nC6H14 at several temperatures over the pressure range 2-18 MPa. The ternary system CH4-nC6H14-nC14H30 was studied in the same temperature range and at three different pressures, 6.5, 9, and 12 MPa over a range of concentrations of C14H30 from 0.002 to 0.05 in mole fraction. The results for both systems at one temperature have been compared with the predictions of two thermodynamic models, the Peng-Robinson equation of state (EOS) and the one-fluid corresponding-states model. Neither of the models has proved suitable to describe the experimental results within their uncertainty.
