N2 - Nongrowing Class II patients who prefer to avoid surgery are commonly treated with orthodontic camouflage, in which dental compensation is used to improve the patient’s occlusion and facial esthetics while disguising the skeletal discrepancy.1-6 A typical camouflage approach involves premolar extractions, upper-arch distalization with or without miniimplants, and the use of intermaxillary elastics.3-5 These techniques may create undesirable effects in the vertical plane, however, such as extrusion of the posterior teeth or a clockwise mandibular rotation that will exacerbate a hyperdivergent growth pattern.2,3,7-9
