Ontogeny and development of behavior

When born, kittens are quite poorly developed. Many changes occur in the systems during the first weeks and months of life. Understanding these changes is important for understanding the rapid development that occurs in the kitten. Together with the development of the five senses, locomotion starts, allowing the infant to search for security and nourishment. It also allows for the development of play behavior. Sleep will allow the kitten to recover and enhance learning, which is fundamental for their survival. During the socialization period, kittens create bonds with others of the same species, as well as other species such as humans. They also learn how to communicate and to develop effective hunting behaviors.
